EVENT HISTORY

The Easter in the Alice Mountain Bike Race is a Central Australian Rough Riders club event that has grown from a local Northern Territory event into one of the best mountain bike events in Australia.

In 2014 the event was launched nationally with half of those competing coming from interstate.

In 2015 the NT government joined as a major sponsor and stage 1 has become round one of the MTBA national marathon series.

In 2017 course routes were updated, allowing riders to experience the latest and greatest tracks in addition to some old favourites.

In 2018 Easter in the Alice saw the highest number of participants yet, due to Paul Davodelsky's tireless commitment as Event Organiser.

In 2019 Outback Cycling is the new Event Organiser. Outback Cycling is a local, family run bicycle shop also specialising in bike tours and hire. MTBA have introduced the new National Cup format and Easter in the Alice has been granted Marquee status. The event is now part of the MTBA cross-country series.

No matter how big the event gets it will ALWAYS keep its Central Australian identity and famous hospitality; where every mountain biker regardless of age or ability will be welcomed to enjoy this unique desert race.
