Outback Cycling Stage 1

  • Race starts and finish in the Alice Springs CBD

  • Stage 1 presentations during the Movie night event

  • Movie night is on the lawns across from the Outback Cycling store in the Todd Mall.   It includes food stalls where you can purchase your dinner and enjoy a movie on the big screen among a social outdoor setting. Outback Cycling will be open for any last minute bike repairs/purchases during the movie night. Please note, this event is a ‘dry event’

Double Tree by Hilton Stage 2

  • Race starts and finishes at the Double Tree by Hilton

  • BBQ post-race around the pool (bring cash for BBQ and drinks)

  • Stage 1 presentations during the Pool Party

  • Top 20 shootout sees the top 20 finishing riders for the day battle it out on a short sharp course around the hotel for cash prizes

Alice Springs Telegraph Station Stage 3

  • Race starts and finish at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station

  • Easter eggs for everyone!

  • Fancy dress is encouraged during this stage

  • Prizes will be awarded to the best fancy dressed riders on the morning

  • Stage 3 presentations will be held during the evening dinner

    AFTER PARTY & FINAL PRESENTATION (Monday 22nd April 2019, 6pm-11pm)

    Join us at an open-air buffet dinner on our final night under a starry outback night sky. The Old Telegraph Station plays host to a live band and great dinner along with the final presentations of the event. You are also free to explore the historical attraction, learn about the history of the town of Alice Springs and enjoy our live Blacksmith demonstration. You are encouraged to ride your bike to the event. Cash bar during the evening event. Compulsory requirement: to have FUN!!

FIRST AID KITS

  • A Sports Medicine team will be available for the duration of the racing events.

  • MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: While riding in the event, each rider must carry with them:

    • 1 x Emergency Space Blanket

    • 2 x Crepe bandages

    • 2 x non-adhesive wound dressings

    • 1 x triangular bandage

    • 1 x pair of surgical gloves

OTHER INFO

  • Alice is very easy to get around on a bike and this is exactly what you will want to do, so bring a bike lock with you, it will make it much easier to leave your bike so you can go into stores and restaurants

  • Bring bike lights so you can safely commute to early race starts and evening events

  • Mountain bike hire is available from Outback Cycling, this can be booked at the time of your event registration OR you can contact the OC team to discuss further with them. (OC also have townie bikes for hire for your travel buddies)

  • Weather: the average temperature at the time of event is 28 degrees during the day, and 12 degrees overnight.
